Internet
Internet access at UCSB has,
for at least the last few years,
been quite reliable (very few random outages),
reasonably fast (important when, for example,
hundreds of conference attendees simultaneously hear about the IACR Springer Reading Room
and begin downloading tons of papers),
and flexible (for example, allowing ssh).
Practically everyone stays at the dorms
(see the housing page)
and receives a network username and password along with the dorm key.
If you're staying somewhere else
then you will receive a network username and password upon registration;
at least that's the standard arrangement for Crypto,
and hopefully it's true for all the conferences this year.

This is version 2010.08.05 of the internet.html web page.
